All Nations Heritage Sunday
Posted Sep 26 2007
Mrs Dorothy GillRoseland Christian School (RCS) at 314 W. 108th St. in Chicago is proud to have its choir director, Mrs. Dorothy Gill, lead a mass choir celebrating All Nations Heritage Sunday in the Christian Reformed Church. A worship service commemorating this event and also the 150th Anniversary of the Christian Reformed Church as a denomination will be held on the campus of Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights on Sunday, October 7, at 5 p.m. Over 1,500 guests of diverse ethnicity will gather to praise and worship God for his blessings and take communion together. The 150-member choir will be comprised of children in the first through 8th grades from RCS and choirs from southwest suburban churches.

Dorothy Gill’s love of sacred music began when she was a teenager. Her father was the pastor of a local church in Pennsylvania, and she played the organ for services for several years beginning at the age of 16. After she married, she directed the choir in her father-in-law’s church. Over the years, word of mouth recommendations led her to direct music for special events such as school graduations and programs. Currently she directs 6 different choirs for churches and community organizations.
