Roseland Christian School has operated continuously in Roseland since 1884. The School was founded by members of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. The Christian Reformed Church is a Protestant denomination having a Calvinist theology.

Roseland Christian School is a beautiful campus but it was not always the way you see it today. At the beginning of the 20th Century there were two Christian Reformed schools existing in Roseland. One was located at 104th Street and the other at 110th Place. For fifty years these schools remained separate. The 104th Street school was controlled by the parents of the students while the 110th Place school was controlled by the principal.

Because of the Chicago fire the 110th Place school building was condemned and a new building was erected in 1929. In 1947 the schools merged, because one was overcrowded and the other lacked students. In 1969, because of a lack of enrollment, the 104th Street school was sold and all students began attending the 108th Street school. This was also a decade of turbulence. However, during this time Principal Marvin Hooker opened the doors to children of all ethnic backgrounds. Now anyone who desired a quality Christian education could get it!

Roseland is fully state accredited and every teacher is fully degreed in their field of teaching. A survey conducted in the summer of 1995 indicated that 70% of the past graduates successfully continued their education through the college level. The students at Roseland Christian School have consistently met or exceeded the national target scores for the Iowa Basic Skills Test.
