“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NIV Last school year the students of RCS donated over $1000 for our “Coins for a Cause” project. For the 2008/2009 school year, we would like to “let our light so shine” by having each grade perform a service project.
The Roseland Christian 17th Annual Golf Outing was washed out this year. That day had record rainfall and there were 18 holes with water hazards. For all who had paid for golfing, we distributed "rain checks". They will be valid anytime this year or all of the 2009 season. Thanks to all who supported the outing - next year will be wonderful weather!
See You at the Pole™ is a great place to seek God with other believers at the beginning of the school year, so you can stand strong together throughout the year. It is about coming together in unity to connect with God in prayer around the flag pole.
There will be a special meeting on Thursday, Spetember 18, 2008 at 6 PM in the Gymnasium. The RCS Online Auction opened on June 10. There are about 70 items currently up for auction. Please go to the web address above and check it out. Let the bidding begin! Updated on August 6 The auction was a great success - ultimately over 100 items were sold raising almost $7,000 for the school. A few items were not sold - so we may run another online auction later this school year. Come back and check our website for news of the next online auction. Thanks to all who participated.
The staff, students and families of RCS have raised approximately $750 in spare change with their "Coins for a Cause" campaign so far to sponsor Thomas Muriithi, a 14-year-old orphan who lives with his grandmother Grace Wanjiju for one year of school in Kenya. For many years he had not attended school and is currently in the 5th grade. They live on a shamba.
The day of the Roseland 16th Annual Golf Outing was bright and sunny with an occasional breeze. School staff and teachers greeted the 71 golfers and handed out free golf balls, lunch passes, and score cards. Opportunity was given to win a door prize, either a large green plant or a baseball memorabilia shadow box.
Roseland Christian School is proud to have its choir director, Mrs. Dorothy Gill, lead a mass choir celebrating All Nations Heritage Sunday in the Christian Reformed Church.
