Vision

» We prepare students to serve Christ and renew his creation.

» We develop and encourage the gifts and talents of our students to achieve their academic potential.

» We partner with Christian homes and churches in the education and spiritual growth of our students.

» We teach and study in the Reformed Christian tradition, which drives us to be Biblically based, culturally engaged, and always reforming.

» We demonstrate God's love and acceptance in our school community in all that we do.

Foundational Beliefs

Inspired by the Reformed Christian faith of Roseland Christian School's founders more than 125 years ago, these continue to be the foundational beliefs of this school:

» The Bible is the Holy Spirit-inspired, infallible, written Word of God, which rules our faith and life.

» God created the earth and the entire universe; therefore, all of it is under his rule and care.

» God created man good and in his own image, ready to care for the world and glorify him. When man disobeyed God and sinned, man became subject to death and broken relationships with God, nature, and others.

» God sent his son Jesus Christ to die and rise again to redeem man and woman.

» Man is justified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

» Man's task is to serve God and others in this world, working to bring people, society, and nature closer to God's original plan at the beginning of creation.

» Christ will return at the end of history to fully restore all of creation to his claims for perfect peace and justice.

» Until that time, Roseland Christian School aims to nurture students in their Christian faith through positive example and instruction, and to equip them for God's work in this world.

Governance

The Roseland Christian School Society owns the School property and facilities. Membership in the Society is open to parents or guardians of children in the School who belong to churches that believe the Word of God as interpreted in the three standards of faith of the Reformed churches stated above. These churches include the Christian Reformed Church in North America, the Reformed Church in America, the Protestant Reformed Church, the Reformed Presbyterian Church, and churches of the Reformed persuasion. Membership in the Society is also open to individuals who are not parents or guardians of children at the School, but who belong to one of the churches listed above and have contributed annually to offerings for the School.

The affairs of the Society are conducted through its Board of Trustees, which consists of eighteen members elected by the Society. Twelve of the Board members must be a member of one of the churches listed above. Six Board members may belong to a church other than those listed above as long as they have demonstrated their Christian witness, willingness, and ability to serve Roseland Christian School. The Board of Trustees meets on the second Monday of every month.
